amiana is a small shrub reaching a height of 4 to 6 feet (1-2 meters), bearing sweet-smelling, serrated leaves growing 4 to 10 inches (10-25 cm) long. Small, yellow flowers bloom in summer and are followed by small fruits with a fig-like taste. Although not a traditional incense ingredient, it does work very well. It has a powerful scent so a little goes a long way.

Sample Incense Recipes
1. Damiana Incense
Mix together:
- Part Patchouli leaves
- 1 Part Golden Rod
- 1 Part Oak Bark
- 1 Part Myrrh
- 2 Parts Damiana
- Few drops of Amber Oil
Thoroughly grind all dry ingredients in a mortar and pestle. Blend in amber oil Burn over smoldering charcoal.
2. Gaia Incense
Mix together:
- 1 part pine resin
- 1 part wormwood
- 1 part damiana
- 1 part patchouli leaves
- 1 part dandelion root
Thoroughly grind all ingredients in a mortar and pestle. Burn over smoldering charcoal.
3. Firey Passion Incense
Mix together:
- ½ part Cinnamon
- ¼ part Ginger Root
- 2 ½ parts Damiana
- A few drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
Thoroughly grind all dry ingredients in a mortar and pestle. Blend in Ylang Ylang oil Burn over smoldering charcoal.
