    Detailed Description
Morning Star Sandalwood Incense - 200 sticks
Crafted from pure floral essences and rare aromatic woods

Like Sume-e paining and haiku poetry, the Japanese art of incense (or Koh as it is known in Japan) is famous for its mystery and subtlty. Morning Star incense, the perenial favorite and best-selling line of Japanese incense, embodies both of these qualities. Much more sutble than Indian or Tibetan incense, it invokes the mysterious fragrances of the natural world without overwhelming you with smoke.

Morning Star is the perfect "every-day" incense. It is equally suitable for meditation, relaxation, setting a peaceful mood for discussion, reading or listening to music.

Each box of Morning Star incense comes with a ceramic tile incense burner, but we prefer to use a ceramic bowl burner filled with sand.

Morning Star is available in either 50 or 200 stick boxes in 12 different fragrances, or key notes, opening up the possibility of "composing" your own symphony of fragrance by mixing and blending. A few favorite combinations to try are Green Tea and Vanilla, Cedarwood and Pine, Sandlawood and Musk, or Jasmine and Lavender. The possibilities - and pleasures - are endless as you combine two or more of these remarkable scents. Please share with us your favorite combinations!

Morning Star is available in the following fragrances:

  • Sandalwood
  • Cedarwood
  • Pine
  • Musk
  • Patchouli
  • Rose
  • Jasmine
  • Amber
  • Lavender
  • Musk
  • Green Tea
  • Cinnamon

I can recall growing up with the smell of incense burning as a small child. It never ever smelled this good; refreshed, woody and uplifting as I inhale the aroma as I prepare for and during my prayer meditations. I practice the art of breathing deeply (inhaling and exhaling) as I expel the stall moment making room for the new mental thoughts, tranquility and peace of mind. I would recommend Sandalwood and Green Tea to anyone.

This is my favorite everyday incense. Delicate, with very low smoke. Scents the room with a woody, balsamic, resinous scent, just slightly sweet. Love it.

I try a lot of incense, but always come back to this one. It is earthy and woodsy, not overpowering, truely a lovely scent!

This is my first purchase with Incense Warehouse. I first experienced Nippon Kodo incense when studying Rin-Shin-Kan Karatedo with my good friend Bob Miner, who interestingly travels and performs with county superstar Tim McGraw. Bob introduced me to a great deal of thoughtful, meditative, and soulful concepts, however, one of the most lasting lessons was how to create a perfect mental place using Nippon Kodo incense. I feel like I have been reunited with an old friend.

Clean, woody smell with just a slight sweetness. Smells just like the incense at the local Buddhist temple, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if this is what they burn themselves. If you think all incense is awful or it all smells the same, then you should try this.

I found this incense while I stationed in Japan in 1965. I have used it as my day-to-day incense ever since. It never overpowers you like an Indian incense. It's subtle, low smoke and is a real value.

I ordered this & Ka-Fuh Hinoki Cypress as my first time trying Japanese incense. This is WONDERFUL - very low smoke and a soft scent that gently fills a room.
