Benzoin of Siam

Not what I expected. A little goes a long way. The smoke is acrid if inhaled as it is coming off the ember scratching the back of the throat and nasal passages. The aroma is identical to the lodgpole pines here in Wyoiming and are everywhere! No vanila but more like scorched wax. Mixed with some frankensence & draggons blood may refine it. I can see why it would be found more in blends than its self.

Melts quickly, so it will smoke more and burn out faster.

The scent is silvery with vanilla notes, less sweet and more balsam. If you get a strong whiff it can even smell caustic. Best burned with other scents to help mellow the powerful balsam notes and bring out the sweeter vanilla ones. The mill is not nearly as fine as pictured. Several chunks the size of a quarter were in my tin (break these up before burning! Large pieces will melt and overflow, drown your charcoal, and leave wasted resin in your ash).

Nice

This is very nice, it does have a slight vanilla like smell to it. It is a clean and refreshing smell. I didn''t really notice it being any more smokey than other resin incense. I will keep this one on hand for sure.
